Turmeric Tea

Turmeric Tea

Turmeric Tea is a great way to get the digestive and immune-boosting benefits of turmeric daily. This is also known as Golden Milk.

Turmeric tea is a delicious and healthy beverage that has been enjoyed for centuries. Made from the roots of the turmeric plant, this tea is known for its many health benefits. It has a warm and slightly spicy flavor, and is often enjoyed as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments.

One of the key ingredients in turmeric tea is curcumin, which has been shown to have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This makes it a great choice for those looking to reduce inflammation in the body, or to protect against oxidative stress.

In addition to its health benefits, turmeric tea is also a great way to warm up on a cold day. It can be enjoyed with a touch of honey or lemon, or even mixed with other spices like ginger or cinnamon for a unique and flavorful twist.

If you're looking for an easy way to incorporate turmeric into your diet, turmeric tea is a great place to start. Just be sure to choose high-quality ingredients that are free from additives or artificial ingredients, and enjoy it as part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1 piece, 1 inch turmeric root (peeled and grated)

1 1/2 piece, 1 inch ginger root (peeled and grated)

2 tsp ghee

1 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup unsweetened coconut water

1/2 cup water

1/2 tbsp. honey

Method:

Peel both the turmeric and ginger, then grate them finely using a mortar and pestle.

Spoon the ghee into the mortar and grind the ghee into the turmeric and ginger with your pestle until they form a fine paste.

Pour the coconut milk, coconut water, and water into a saucepan, and spoon in the paste made with turmeric, ginger and ghee.

Turn the heat up to medium and warm the ingredients together until little bubbles just begin to creep up the sides of the pot.

Turn off the heat and cover the saucepan, allowing the turmeric and ginger to steep about 3 minutes.

Strain the golden milk through a fine-mesh strainer or tea strainer into a tea pot. Stir in the honey and continue stirring until it dissolves. Serve warm

Additional Notes:

Also delicious with a touch of cinnamon and cayenne pepper.

Health and Auto-immune Diseases

I have auto-immune diseases and expected to be on medicine for the rest of my life, but I didn't want to live like that. My rheumatology Doctor was so supportive of the change I wanted to make, and with their help, I now manage my auto-immune diseases by being strict with my diet.

It can be quite frightening when you first find out you have to change the way you eat but for some of us' Food is our medicine.'

I have several websites, write blogs, and I'm currently in the process of writing a book.

I trained to be Holistic Health Coach, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher and Certified Gluten Free Practitioner in order to heal myself, my family and others who find themselves on the same journey as myself.

Photography

Our love for photography started on our travels. We wanted to capture images of the areas we travelled to both for our own records and for our family back at home. Some of these images were reproduced as watercolours. Our favourite images we display at home and friends often asked where we had purchased the pictures! Now you can purchase them online directly from us.
